⚠️ Wanli Station operates under the same authority as Shanhua Station — the Tainan City Animal Disease Prevention and Protection Office — and follows identical adoption procedures, fees, and legal requirements. 1. Visit the shelter — bring your ID and be at least 20 years old
   • Visit Tainan City Animal Shelter Wanli Station or Shanhua Station during open hours
   • Applicants must be at least 20 years old and bring a government-issued ID
2. Browse and select your animal
   • Browse the dog and cat housing areas freely and choose an animal
   • If the animal has reached its public notice period or is a young animal, you may proceed with adoption immediately
   • If the animal has not yet reached its public notice period, you may make a reservation — the adoption must be completed within 7 days or the reservation is automatically cancelled
3. Complete the adoption application
   • Fill out the adoption application form at the office and present your ID document
4. Microchip implantation and pet registration (free)
   • Staff will assist with microchip implantation and pet registration at no charge
5. Free veterinary treatments
   • Free rabies and 7-in-1 combination vaccination
   • Free internal and external parasite treatment
6. Spay/neuter surgery — completely free
   • If the animal can be spayed/neutered at time of adoption: the shelter will schedule surgery within 7 days — you take the animal home after surgery is completed
   • If the animal is too young or otherwise not ready: take the animal home and return to arrange surgery once it has completed its vaccinations and is in good health
   • Spay/neuter surgery is completely free — adoption costs NT$0 in all cases
7. Legal obligations after adoption
   • Spay/neuter: required by law unless a licensed vet provides a medical exemption
   • Annual rabies vaccination: required each year
   • Microchip registration: must be completed within 4 months of adoption
   • Dogs must be leashed in public at all times
