1. Visit the shelter and choose your animal
   • Visit during open hours — enter via Lane 875, Section 1, Dazhang Road, Fengyuan Township and follow to the end of the lane
   • Browse adoptable dogs and cats freely and notify staff once you have chosen an animal
   • Adopters must be at least 18 years old with no record of Animal Protection Act violations
2. Complete the adoption application
   • Fill out the adoption application form and present a government-issued ID
   • A single adopter may not adopt more than three dogs within one calendar year
3. Complete animal registration (free of charge)
   • Rabies vaccination, microchip implantation, and dog registration are all provided free of charge at the shelter (does not apply to puppies under 3 months old or animals being reclaimed by their original owner)
   • Adoption is free of charge
4. Free follow-up veterinary visit within one week
   • Adopted animals are entitled to a free return visit to the shelter clinic within one week of adoption
5. Legal obligations and return policy
   • Spay/neuter: required by law unless a licensed vet provides a medical exemption
   • Annual rabies vaccination: required each year
   • Microchip registration: must be completed within 4 months of adoption
   • Dogs must be leashed in public at all times
   • If you are genuinely unable to continue caring for the animal, the shelter will accept the animal back free of charge — do not abandon
   • Adopters must cooperate with shelter follow-up care surveys after adoption

🏥 Changhua County Pet Health Passport Program (adopted dogs only)
Adopters who have had their dog for at least one year may bring the animal back to the shelter to apply for free health services under this program. Contact (04) 859-0638 or (04) 762-0774 ext. 263 for details.

✂️ Free Mixed-Breed Spay/Neuter Program
Changhua County periodically runs a free spay/neuter program open to shelter adopters and general pet owners. Check the Changhua County Animal Disease Prevention Office website for current announcements.
