Choose your animal and complete the adoption application
- Browse the dog and cat areas freely and choose an animal
- Fill out the adoption application form at the office and present your ID

- Staff will assist with microchip implantation, pet registration, and rabies vaccination

- Dogs: bring a leash or appropriate carrier
- Cats: bring a hard-sided carrier to prevent escape during transport

Legal obligations after adoption
- Spay/neuter: required by law — if unable to neuter for medical reasons, submit an exemption declaration to the Animal Protection Office
- Annual rabies vaccination: required each year
- Microchip registration: must be completed within 4 months of adoption
- Dogs must be leashed in public at all times
✂️ Miaoli County Spay/Neuter Subsidy
The Miaoli County Animal Protection and Disease Prevention Office runs an annual spay/neuter subsidy program. The 2026 program runs until October 31, 2026 at 5:00 PM (or until funds run out). Eligibility: residents registered in Miaoli County who have completed pet microchip registration and have a valid rabies vaccination (within 1 year), using a contracted partner veterinary clinic. Instead, navigate to Tongluo Land Administration Office (No. 46-2, Pingyang Road, Fuxing Village, Tongluo Township).
