- Visit the shelter during open hours and browse the dog kennel or cat room freely

- Receive a consultation with shelter staff covering the animal's habits and care requirements
- Staff may arrange a home visit if deemed necessary

Complete the application and ID verification
- Fill out the Taipei City Animal Adoption Application form
- Present government-issued ID for verification — applicants must be at least 18 years old

Veterinary health check
- A vet will conduct a health check on your chosen animal
- For dogs: microchip implantation, pet registration, and rabies vaccination are completed at this step
- The vet will brief you on the animal's health status before you leave
