Unlike most Taiwan shelters where adoption is completely free, Chiayi County charges a pet registration fee of NT$100 when adopting an un-neutered animal. Adopting an already-neutered animal has no fee.
The shelter is open Saturday mornings (9:00 AM to 11:30 AM only). There is no Saturday afternoon session, unlike the weekday schedule which includes both morning and afternoon.
